Gippsland Solar partnered with its supplier SunEdison to install this mammoth system for BUPA Aged Care in Traralgon.

Gippsland installed the last 100kW system in late 2015, bringing the system total up to 300kW. At the time it was the largest system in eastern Victoria, generating a whopping 350,000kWh’s per year.

Gippsland Solar’s experience in large-scale solar installations was the key factor in being awarded this project. With our previous experience installing systems for clients such as Bendigo Hospital, Gippsland Grammar, Latrobe City Council, Department of Justice and many more, our team of engineers, designers and installers were able to implement this project with minimal hassle to BUPA’s delicate business operation.

Our team worked long days and weekends through the scorching summer period, to complete this project on time for Christmas.

This installation for BUPA is part of a national contract with SunEdison to reduce their carbon footprint, installing approximately 4.5MW across 60 sites around Australia. Once this project is complete, BUPA will reduce their carbon footprint by 20% by 2020.

The response from the BUPA management and staff was incredibly positive. Our team was able to install this system without interrupting the operation of the facility, which is critical in the aged care industry. The staff commented that the planning and implementation of this major project was the most professional they have experienced.

BUPA now enjoys the benefits of premium quality components, and a remote monitoring system that provides complete peace of mind. The Fronius inverter will email the office in the unlikely event of a system failure.
